AUGUSTA, Ga. – Senior Pimchanok Kawil led the Toledo women's golf team with a three-over par 75 on Sunday as the Rockets finished in 11th place at the Valspar Augusta Invitational. No. 41 Texas Tech won the tournament title with a four-under par 860, four shots ahead of No. 33 Purdue.
"This whole tournament was an important learning opportunity for us," Head Coach Jenny Coluccio said. "It exposed our areas for improvement, and there were great highlights as well. Donchanok shot her lowest round of the season on Saturday and it was a 10-shot turnaround from her first round. Today's hole locations were challenging for the whole field. Looking forward, we are going to focus on scoring strategy and mentality to prepare for our next tournament at Memphis."Â
Kawil led Toledo with two birdies today and finished tied for 51st place at 15-over par 231 (81-75-75). She finished two strokes behind classmates Natcha Daengpiem (74-75-80) and Pinyada Kuvanun (75-78-76), who tied for 47th place at 13-over par 229.
Rounding out the Rocket lineup were juniors Saranlak Tumfong (T-62nd/76-79-82=237) and Donchanok Toburint (T-66th/84-74-80=238).
The Rockets return to action on Monday-Tuesday, April 1-2 at the Memphis Women's Intercollegiate in Germantown, Tenn.
