Kent, Ohio – The University of Toledo women's track & field team had seven athletes finish in the top-10 of their respective events at the Doug Raymond National Qualifier in Kent, Ohio on Saturday.

"It was a great preview for the MAC Championships in two weeks," said assistant coach Adrian Ghioroaie. "It was good to see the Rockets get familiar with the facility."

Junior Stephanie Sherman led the Rockets in the 3000-meter, clocking a time of 10:09.68 to take second. Sherman was followed by sophomore Riley Kwiatkowski (ninth/10:18.55), freshman Elisabeth LaPrad (10th/10:21.78) and junior Amanda Bakely (11th/10:25.27).

Senior Shanice Williams was the first Rocket to cross the finish line in the 200-meter, setting a PR and taking third with a time of 24.60. Fellow senior Nautica Hill landed in the top 10, taking seventh with a time of 24.88, which was 0.1 second shy of her current PR.

"Shanice Williams looks like she will add the 200-meter event to her 60-meter duties, where she remains the conference leader," said Ghioroaie. "Nautica Hill also showed great form in the 200-meter against some through MAC competition, showing great consistency."

In the field events, senior Katie Dewey led the Rockets in throws, taking sixth in the shot up (14.61m) and 10th in the weight throw (17.02m).  "Katie Dewey continued to exhibit superb form and will be a double threat in the shot put and weight throw," said Ghioroaie.

Sophomore Janell Rowe hit a personal best in the triple jump, landing her in the top five in the MAC with a jump of 12.04m. In the long jump, senior Deja Martin took 11th with a leap of 5.38m.
