LAFAYETTE, La. – Freshman David Amm carded his second straight even-par 72 in Tuesday's final round at the Louisiana Classics to help Toledo tie for 12th place with a 37-over par 901 (307-297-297).
Amm tied for 26th place individually at six-over par 222 (78-72-72) and tallied three straight birdies on his 13th, 14th and 15th holes after bogeying his 12th hole to go to three-over par.
Sophomore Grant Godfrey registered the Rockets' second-best score of the day with a two-over 74 and tied for 67th place at 13-over par 229 (78-77-74).
The remainder of the Toledo lineup included junior Rasmus Broholt Lind (T-55th/76-75-76-227), senior Duncan McNeill (T-63rd/80-73-75=228) and freshman Muhammed Afif Mohd Fathi (T-80th/75-82-80=237).
"David played at a high level after knocking off the rust on his game after the first nine holes on Monday," Head Coach Jeff Roope said. "It was great to have him back on the course after his injury in the fall. I think the rest of our team showed promise. More reps, more short game work and better results off the tee are all things that will come as the spring progresses."
McNeese State captured the tournament title with a one-under par 863, seven strokes in front of No. 26 Illinois. The Cowboys' Blake Elliott earned medalist honors with a five-under par 211 (75-67-68).
Toledo returns to action on March 15-17 when it travels to Eatonton, Ga. for the Linger Longer Invitational.
