Nine Rockets Earn Academic All-MAC Honors

Toledo volleyball had nine student-athletes selected to the Academic All-MAC squad.

TOLEDO, Ohio — The University of Toledo volleyball team placed nine student-athletes on the Academic All-MAC list, the league office announced Wednesday.

Caleigh Barhorst, Liz Beasley, Megan Beasley, Zoe Birnbrich, Maddie Fogg, Chloee Kleespies, Rhyen Neal, Emma Swope, and Elise Wilcox all earned Academic All-MAC honors. This was the second time that Barhorst, Birnbrich, Kleespies, Neal, and Swope earned this distinction after being recognized in 2018. This is the first Academic All-MAC selection for the other four student-athletes.

Liz Beasley was one of four student-athletes to record a perfect 4.0 GPA throughout the season. Toledo, Akron, Bowling Green, and Miami all led the conference with nine Academic All-MAC selections.

The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that sport.
