Dylan Alderson Pours in 30 Points to Lead Toledo to 100-41 Win

TOLEDO, Ohio – Junior Dylan Alderson exploded for a career-high 30 points to lead Toledo to a dominating 100-41 victory over NAIA foe Northwestern Ohio on Saturday afternoon. The 59-point victory is the second-largest ever in Savage Arena history.

"I was really happy with the way we respected our opponent and with our maturity," Toledo Head Coach Tod Kowalczyk said. "Once we got a big lead we didn't let up. We played well defensively and held them to a low field-goal percentage."

Alderson led a Rocket attack that had six players score in double digits and notched its second-straight 100-point outing at home. Toledo (4-2) led the entire contest and limited the Racers to a 26.8 field-goal percentage, including 18.5 percent in a 13-point second half.

A pair of Rockets – junior Marreon Jackson (10 pts., 10 asst.) and senior Willie Jackson (11 pts., 12 reb.) -  registered double-doubles. Willie Jackson also dished out a career-best six assists and tied his career high with four steals.

Junior Spencer Littleson (14 pts.), senior Luke Knapke (10 pts.) and freshman Luke Maranka (10 pts.) also reached double figures in the scoring column. Knapke rejected a season-high four shots, while Maranka collected a season-best three blocks.

The Rockets finished the contest with a 49.3 shooting mark and were 11-of-35 (31.4 percent) from behind the three-point arc. Alderson spearheaded the Midnight Blue and Gold's three-point attack by hitting 6-of-12 shots from downtown.

Toledo returns to action in a week when it hosts Horizon League member Oakland (4-2) on Saturday, Nov. 30. Tip-off time in Savage Arena is 7:00 p.m. The Golden Grizzlies will play at Northern Illinois on Monday, Nov. 25 before coming to the Glass City.
