TOLEDO, Ohio – Head Coach Tod Kowalczyk announced the signing of Ryan Rollins (Macomb, Mich.) to a national letter of intent on Wednesday.  Rollins will join the Toledo men's basketball program prior to the start of the 2020-21 academic year.

"We are tremendously excited to have Ryan become a part of our program," Kowalczyk said. "He's a very talented point guard with great length and size. He has an unbelievable feel for the game and plays with a great pace. We look forward to him being an impact player for us next year."

Rollins is entering his senior campaign at Dakota High School and has already enjoyed a stellar prep career for the Cougars. A two-time Detroit Free Press and Detroit News honorable-mention Division I all-state selection, Rollins averaged 21.3 points, 5.8 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.2 steals per game as a junior to earn first-team All-MAC Red and All-Macomb County honors.

As a sophomore, Rollins averaged 23.4 points, 6.9 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.5 steals per game to help Dakota earn its fourth straight MAC Red championship and win a district title before a regional final loss to Warren De La Salle.

Kowalczyk and the Rockets (1-1) will open their home season this weekend with a pair of home games as part of the Men Against Breast Cancer Invitational. Toledo will host Robert Morris on Saturday, Nov. 16 and Howard on Sunday, Nov. 17. Both contests will tip off at 2:00 p.m.
