KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Toledo men's tennis team closed out the fall portion of its season at the Mid-American Conference Invitational on Sunday in Kalamazoo, Mich. with three singles victories.

Junior Filip Zupancic, who went 2-1 in singles and 2-1 in doubles over the weekend,  posted a two-set victory over Buffalo's Greg Hastings (6-4, 6-4). Freshman Max Skaer also garnered a two-set victory, downing Ball State's Abe Wojtalik 6-3, 6-3. Fellow freshman Krzysztof Wetoszka locked into a three-set thriller with Northern Illinois' Mikko Malinen, winning the first set 6-4 before dropping the second 3-6. Wetoszka secured the victory after defeating Malinen 10-7 in the final set.

"We're looking forward towards our holiday and winter. We've got a long ways to go, but we've been impressed with all the individual improvements and we love our team chemistry,"  said head coach Al Wermer.

The Rockets will hit the courts again on Jan. 11 as they face Michigan State at 11:00 a.m. in East Lansing, Mich.
