Defensive Efforts Not Enough as Rockets Fall at Kent State

KENT, Ohio - The Toledo women's soccer team's efforts weren't enough Sunday afternoon as the Rockets (3-9-0, 0-4-0) fell 3-0 to Kent State (4-5-2, 2-1-1) at Dix Stadium.
Kent State forward Vital Kats put one to the back of the net in the 29th minute, as junior Madison Perrin was forced to come off her line, but Kats snuck to past Perrin's left side. The Rockets were able to create some scoring opportunities late in the first half, forcing the Golden Flashes' keeper to make two big saves to keep the Rockets off the scoreboard.
Kent State added a second goal less than 10 minutes into the second half, sneaking one past Perrin's right side as she came off her line. The Rockets' upped the pressure on the Golden Flashes, but were unable to get any shots past the physical Kent State defense. Kent State added a final goal in the 89th minute to secure the win.

- Junior Alex Troy, sophomore Anita Mancini, and freshman Ariana Garcia led the way for the Rockets with two shots each.
