Jaelan Sanford Named to Lou Henson Award Mid-Season Watch List

TOLEDO, Ohio - Senior guard Jaelan Sanford has been named to the 2018-19 Lou Henson Award Mid-Season Watch list.

Sanford's inclusion on the Henson Mid-Season Watch list marks the second straight year a Rocket has been on the list after Tre'Shaun Fletcher was last season. Sanford leads the Rockets with 16.4 ppg (T-6th in MAC), an 87.8 FT% (2nd in MAC) and 31.1 mpg. He also ranks second on the team with 26 three-point field goals and 36 free throws and is tied for second with 3.0 apg.

The 2019 Lou Henson Award will be presented at the College Insider awards event in April at the site of the NCAA Division I Men's Championship in Minneapolis, Minn..

Lou Henson coached 41 years. When he left the game in 2005 he was sixth all-time in career Division I wins with 779. He is the winningest coach at both Illinois and New Mexico State. He is one of only 12 coaches in the history of the game to take two schools to the Final Four.
