The Mary Fossum Invitational is always a great tournament and we were excited to play in it again this year. I enjoyed playing Forest Akers and was excited to see my team have positive mindsets and learn from each other during the practice round and each tournament day.
The Mary Fossum is a 36-18 event, which means we play 36 holes the first day and then 18 the second day. Playing 36 holes on the first day was amazing, but it takes a lot of energy! I am thankful to my coaches and teammates for always cheering me on throughout the day! Sharing energy and encouragement is one thing we focus on as a team, because seeing another teammate and hearing their words of encouragement boost you up every time. It can give you the extra motivation and focus to have a strong finish for the day.
In each tournament we are lucky to meet other players and teams, and the players in my groups both days were a joy to play with. As a team, we learned from both the areas we did well and where we need to improve. We are focused and determined to work on to preparing those areas for the next tournament in Kentucky.
