Pinyada Kuvanun in Third Place After 36 Holes at Lady Buckeye Invitational

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Junior Pinyada Kuvanun is just two shots out of the lead and Toledo sits in 13th place following Saturday's first two rounds of Ohio State's Lady Buckeye Invitational. Kuvanun carded a one-under par 143 (73-70) at OSU's par-72, 6,319-yard Scarlet Course and is competing against a field that includes nine of the nation's Top 100 golfers.
Kuvanun was red-hot at the start of her second round as she collected three straight birdies before posting a bogey. The rest of her round included 12 pars as well as a birdie and a bogey. In the opening round, Kuvanun was consistent with 15 pars, two bogeys and one par.
Toledo improved on its first-round score by 12 strokes to finish at 46-over 622 (317-305). Sophomore Saranlak Tumfong shot a two-over 74 in the second round and is tied for 58th place at 13-over 157, while junior Hannah Kochendoerfer is tied for 65th place at 15-over par 159 after shooting a five-over 77 in the second round.
Rounding out the Rocket lineup are junior Pimchanok Kawil (T-77th/79-84=163), sophomore Thunpijja Sukkasem (T-83rd/84-85=169) and junior Natcha Daengpiem (85th/89-85=174). Sophomore Donchanok Toburint is competing as an individual and tied for 72nd place at 17-over par 161 (83-78).
Kent State's Pimnipa Panthong (68-73) and Illinois' Grace Park (69-72) are tied for first at the top of the individual leaderboard at three-under par 141. The Fighting Illini leads the 14-team at three-over par 579, while the Golden Flashes are in second at nine-over par 585.
Tomorrow's final round will begin with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start.
