Rockets Set to Compete in Ball State Challenge

Toledo, Ohio - The Toledo women's track and field team will travel to Muncie, Ind. to compete in the Ball State Challenge this Friday. The meet will take place at the Briner Sports Complex on the campus of Ball State and is UT's third of the outdoor season. Field events will begin at 10 a.m. and running events will follow at 2 p.m.

"This will be a good chance for a lot of the team to get some quality competition and hopefully experience some nice weather," head coach Linh Nguyen said. "We're going to sit out a few of the top performers and see who steps up from the rest of the group."

In addition to the women's track and field team, Toledo will also send men's cross country runners to compete in the 1,500m race.

The Rockets are coming off the annual Battle of I-75 dual meet with Bowling Green. This year's meet ended in a 96-96 tie between both programs. Toledo earned 10 first-place finishes, and junior Katie Dewey earned a Mid-American Conference automatic qualifier with her 14.69m throw in the shot put.

INFORMATION FOR FANS
Parking for the event will be in the corner lot of McGalliard Rd and Tillotson Ave, and admission is free. Live results for the Ball State challenge can be found here.
