
Toledo to Compete in Fort Lauderdale Intercollegiate on Monday and Tuesday

TOLEDO, Ohio - Toledo continues its spring season by opening its spring break with a trip to the sunny climate of Florida to compete in the second-annual Fort Lauderdale Intercollegiate on Monday-Tuesday, March 5-6. The two-day event will be played at the Fort Lauderdale Country Club. The 54-hole tourney will consist of a shotgun start of 8:15 a.m. on Monday and tee times start beginning at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday.
UT features a balanced lineup with five Rockets posting 74.0 stroke averages or lower. Sophomore Joe Bryce leads the way with a 72.8 scoring mark and is followed by sophomore Thomas Thurloway (73.8), junior Duncan McNeill (73.8), senior Colin Joseph (73.9) and senior Stephen Watts (73.9).

THE FIELD
• Fifteen schools are participating in the Fort Lauderdale Intercollegiate.
• Joining Toledo in the event will be Austin Peay, Boston College, Connecticut, Davidson, Drexel, Florida Atlantic, Florida Gulf Coast, Hartford,  LaSalle, Old Dominion, St. Bonaventure, St. John's, Villanova and the host Greyhounds.
ROCKETS AT THE FORT LAUDERDALE INTERCOLLEGIATE
• Toledo is participating in the Fort Lauderdale Intercollegiate for the first time.
• Richmond won last year's inaugural event with a seven-over par 871. The Spiders' Keegan Hoff earned medalist honors at four-under par 212 (74-71-67).
LOOKING BACK AT THE LOUISIANA CLASSICS
• Toledo played its best golf in the final two rounds of the tournament, finishing at one-under par over the final 36 holes en route to a ninth-place tie.
• Thurloway was the Rockets' top performer in the tourney with a one-over par 217 (70-74-73) to finish tied for 30th place.
• Joseph carded back-to-back two-under par 70s in the final two rounds to finish tied for 34th place at two-over par 218 (78-70-70).
• Rounding out the Rockets' lineup was Bryce tied for 46th place at four-over par 220 (76-70-74), Watts tied for 55th place at five-over par 221 (76-71-74), and McNeill tied for 59th place at six-over par 222 (75-74-73).
ON THE HORIZON
• Toledo will return to action on Saturday-Sunday, March 17-18 at the Mission Inn Spring Spectacular in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla.
