Toledo Travels to North Carolina for UNCW's Seahawk Intercollegiate

WILMINGTON, N.C. - Toledo looks to continue its run of success during March when it participates in UNC-Wilmington's ninth-annual Seahawk Intercollegiate on Sunday-Monday, March 25-26. The two-day event will be played on the par-72, 6,967-yard CC of Landfall Nicklaus Course. The 54-hole tourney will consist of a shotgun start of 8:30 a.m. each day with 36 holes being played on Sunday followed by the final round on Monday.
UT features a balanced lineup with five Rockets posting 74.2 stroke averages or lower and has placed second in each of its last two tournaments. Sophomore Joe Bryce leads the way with a 72.8 scoring mark and is followed by junior Duncan McNeill (73.5), sophomore Thomas Thurloway (73.7), senior Colin Joseph (73.8) and senior Stephen Watts (74.2). Bryce will sit out this weekend's tourney due to injury and will be replaced in the lineup by junior Spencer Shoemaker (75.1). Freshman Dylan Van Fossen (76.1) will also participate in this weekend's event as an individual.

• Thirteen schools are participating in the Seahawk Intercollegiate.
• Joining Toledo in the event will be Army West Point, Boston College, Campbell, Columbia, Davidson, Elon, George Mason, Miami (Ohio), Richmond, Michigan State, Rutgers and the host Seahawks. The Spartans are ranked No. 53 in Golfstat's computer rankings and are the highest ranked squad in the field.

LOOKING BACK AT THE MISSION INN SPRING SPECTACULAR
• Toledo registered its second straight runner-up showing, finishing behind only No. 27 TCU.
• Four Rockets placed in the tournament's Top 20 with Joseph (75-76-70) and McNeill (73-75-73) each tying for 10th place at five-over par 221.
• Joseph posted a team-best two-under par 70 in the final round thanks to collecting birdies on three of his last four holes. He was tied for third in the tournament in par-three scoring at even-par and registered 31 pars and 10 birdies during the 54-hole event.
• McNeill posted a team-best 73 in Saturday's opening round after registering four birdies. He ranked second in the tourney in par-five scoring at seven-under par and was tied for fourth with 12 birdies.
• Joseph and McNeill were honored for their play by being named Mid-American Conference Men's Co-Golfers of the Week for the first time in their respective collegiate careers.
• Thurloway concluded the tournament tied for 16th place at seven-over par 223 (78-71-74), while Watts tied for 19th place at 10-over par 226 (78-73-75).

• Toledo will be idle until Saturday-Sunday, April 14-15 when it travels to West Lafayette, Ind. for the Boilermaker Invitational.
