Rockets Set for MAC Indoor Track & Field Championships

Toledo, Ohio - The Toledo women's track & field team will compete in the Mid-American Conference Championships on Friday, Feb. 23 and Saturday, Feb. 24 in Bowling Green, Ohio, at the Perry Field House.

The Rockets are led by a strong pack of runners in the 200m (Tori Thomson), one mile (Janelle Noe, Olivia Chinn, Petronela Simiuc), 800m (Simiuc), 5000m (Athens Welsh, Jennifer Lichter, Stephanie Sherman),and 3,000m (Welsh, Noe, Stephanie Barlow).

Michelle Hostettler, Danda Da Silva, Chinn and Barlow make up the distance medley team for Toledo. The squad of Yana Khabuna, Nautica Hill, Christina Johnson and Dandadeua Da Silva make up the 4x400m squad.

Shanice Williams and Johnson represent Toledo in the 60m while Sally Frank and Katie Dewey will compete in shot put. Dewey will also compete in the weight throw.

Rounding out the Rockets' championship team are Madison Pierce, Atalia Da Silva, Janell Rowe, Karoline Steppin and Deja Martin. Pierce will compete in the long jump, and Atalia Da Silva will compete in the high jump. Rowe, Steppin and Martin will all compete in the triple jump.
