Toledo, Ohio – The University of Toledo men's tennis team will be heading to Kalamazoo, Mich. for the Mid-American Conference Indoor Tournament, Friday-Sunday, Nov. 9-11 at West Hills Athletic Club. Competition will start at 1:00 p.m. on Friday with 8:30 a.m. starts slated for Saturday and Sunday.
 "We've been really impressed with our team, especially our seniors and leaders," said head coach
Al Wermer. "They've responded remarkably so far this fall. I know they want to finish competitions well and look forward to upgrading their games over the next two months before winter dual season."
Toledo was last in action at the ITA Midwest Regionals, hosted by Notre Dame. Senior
Vince Anzalone fought his way through the qualifying bracket, racking up wins against Notre Dame's Andrew Mariados (6-2, 6-1) and DePaul's Christopher Casti (6-2, 3-6, 6-3), before falling in the main draw to Cleveland State's Matthew Terry (2-6, 6-3, 6-3).
In last season's MAC Indoor Tournament, Anzalone,
Reid Teatsorth, and
Danilo Vukotic each posted 2-1 records in singles play. Vukotic reached the No. 4 singles flight finals before falling to Western Michigan's Nick Schnobel. In doubles,
Luka Vitosevic, paired with Northern Illinois' Victor Spolidorio, reached the flight three championship match before falling to Ball State's Tom Carney/Jan Jirus (8-4).
The 2018-19 season will resume Jan 12 with a noon matchup at Purdue.
