Toledo Visiting West Coast for Saint Mary's Invite This Week

TOLEDO, Ohio - The Toledo men's golf team concludes its fall campaign this week when it travels to the West Coast for the Saint Mary's Invitational on Monday-Wednesday, Nov. 5-7. The three-day event will be played at the par-71, 7,002-yard Poppy Hills Golf Course. The 54-hole tourney will consist of a tee time start beginning at 7:30 a.m. (PT) each day.
The Rockets will be competing for the first time in nearly a month. UT's last tournament was at Notre Dame's Fighting Irish Classic on Oct. 7-8.
Freshman David Amm is leading the Rockets with a 73.0 stroke average but will not be participating this weekend due to injury. Sophomore Grant Godfrey ranks second on the team with a 73.7 mark and is followed by freshman Muhammed Afif Mohd Fathi (75.3), junior Rasmus Broholt Lind (75.5), senior Spencer Shoemaker (75.7) and senior Duncan McNeill (75.9).
THE FIELD
• Eighteen schools are participating in the Saint Mary's Invitational.
• The other 17 teams competing in the tournament will be Arizona, BYU, Colorado State, Fresno State, Nevada, Oregon, Oregon State, Pepperdine, San Diego State, San Francisco, Santa Clara, Toledo, UCF, UNC Wilmington, USC, Utah, and Washington State. In that group, Pepperdine (No. 8), USC (No. 10) and BYU (No. 19) are listed in Golfstat's top-25 rankings while Nevada (No. 36) and UCF (No. 49) also sit in the top-50.

ROCKETS AT THE SAINT MARY'S INVITATIONAL
• Toledo is participating in the Saint Mary's Invitational for the third-straight year. The Rockets posted a 13th place-finish in 2016 before improving to a 10th-place showing last season. UT carded an even-par 284 in the final to finish last year's event at eight-over par 860 in a field that included 12 teams ranked in Golfstat's Top 100.
