Joelle Gallais to Compete in OSU Invite

Toledo, Ohio - Toledo women's swimming and diving student-athlete Joelle Gallais will travel down to Columbus, Ohio this weekend to compete in the Ohio State Invitational. While competition runs Thursday through Saturday at the McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion, Gallais will only be competing in the platform diving event on Saturday.

"I'm looking forward to seeing Joelle compete platform for the first time this season," head diving coach Gabby Agostino said. "This invite will be a great experience for her. I hope to see her go out there and be confident in her dives and focus on what we have been practicing."

Participating schools include Ohio State, Kentucky, Kenyon, Notre Dame, Ohio, Pittsburgh, Stanford, Toledo, West Virginia, and Yale.

Gallais is coming off UT's Nov. 3 dual against Youngstown State. The Lumsden, Saskatchewan native highlighted the meet after hitting the NCAA zone "C" qualifying mark in the 1- and 3-meter events. In the 1-meter, the freshman earned a score of 279.83, 72 points ahead of YSU's Kayla Wrasman. In addition to being a zone "C" qualifying time, Gallais' score ranks third all-time at UT. Gallais followed up in the 3-meter with a score of 291.08, 73 points ahead of Wrasman. Gallais' total ranks fourth-best all-time at UT.
