Columbus - Toledo women's swimming and diving freshman Joelle Gallais competed in the platform diving event at the Ohio State Invitational today. Gallais took sixth overall, earning a score of 233.75 and beating out a competitive field that included athletes from Ohio State, Stanford, Notre Dame and Kentucky.

Gallais' score also hit the NCAA zone "C" qualifying mark for platform.

"Overall, Joelle had a great performance today," head diving coach Gabby Agostino said. "She was consistent on all her dives and stayed focus throughout the competition. It was a great experience for her to compete against some bigger schools. We still have some work to do but I am very happy with today."

OSU's Lara Tarvit won the event, finishing with a score of 265.35. She was followed by teammate Lexie Barker (259.15) and Pittsburgh's Amy Read (245.35).

Gallais and the rest of the Rockets return to the pool in two weeks to compete in the Zippy Invitational hosted by Akron. Competition runs Nov. 30-Dec. 2 inside the Ocasek Natatorium.
