Peoria, Ill. – The University of Toledo men's cross country team competed in its second to last meet of the regular season on Friday.
Junior Dismas Koech led the Rockets, placing 71st with a time of 25:45.9. Sophomore Jake Papish finished 83rd (25:54.2), senior Jacob Wistinghausen was 113th (26:11.2), freshman Joel Duffield placed 186th (26:45.5), and senior Josh Oeters was 190th (26:49.1).
"The men had a similar issue as the women, in that they didn't get out well and had a lot of ground to make up," head coach Linh Nguyen said. "From 1K to the finish, they ran well. It was great to see Papish have a strong race."
The Midnight Blue and Gold finished 26th as a team with 641 points.
The Rockets race again at the Eastern Michigan Classic on October 19 at 4:30 p.m.
