TOLEDO, OHIO - Toledo (9-4, 0-1 MAC) returns to the friendly confines of Savage Arena on Wednesday, Jan. 3 for a Mid-American Conference cross-division showdown vs. Akron (6-6, 0-1 MAC). The opening tip is slated for 7:00 p.m. from Savage Arena and will be streamed live on ESPN3.

The 2017 MAC Champions are in the midst of an 11-game home winning streak and have posted an impressive 64-16 (.800) mark against league opponents under 10th-year head coach Tricia Cullop.
Toledo enters tomorrow's match-up on the heels of a 78-61 setback at Ohio in Sunday's conference opener.Â
UT shot a season-low 28.1 percent (16-of-57) from the field, including 18.2 percent (4-of-22) from three-point range, and a season-tying best 83.3 percent (25-of-30) from the free throw line to suffer its fifth straight loss to the Bobcats (7-5, 1-0 MAC).
Junior Mikaela Boyd paced the Rockets with a season-high 20 points and 10 rebounds to post her second double-double this year and 12th in her collegiate career.
Junior Kaayla McIntyre added 18 points and seven caroms, while senior Jay-Ann Bravo-Harriott knocked down a team-high four triples and chipped in 12 points.
Toledo, which is 5-0 at home, is fueled offensively by the trio of McIntyre, Bravo-Harriott, Boyd and junior Olivia Cunningham, who are averaging 14.5, 11.7, 10.0 and 9.3 ppg, respectively.
The Zips enters tomorrow's action having dropped their last two contests, most recently sustaining an 89-66 loss vs. Buffalo on Saturday at home. Megan Sefcik led UA with 14 points, followed by Caitlin Vari and Sarah Leyendecker with 10 and nine, respectively.
Akron, which is 1-3 away from home, features an attack with two players averaging double figures led by Sefcik's 14.4 ppg.
UT and UA will square off for the only time during the regular season and the 55th time overall. Toledo has won the last two match-ups against UA after dropping the previous six games and holds a 41-13 advantage in the all-time series.

Following Wednesday's contest, the Rockets will travel to MAC West Division rival Eastern Michigan (4-8, 0-1 MAC) on Saturday, Jan. 6. Game time versus the Eagles is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. in the Convocation Center and will be streamed live on ESPN3.
UT has won the last two meetings against EMU after dropping four of the previous five games and holds a 48-32 advantage in the all-time series, including a 22-15 edge in games played in Ypsilanti.
