Toledo to Host Valparaiso For Senior Day on Sunday

TOLEDO, Ohio - The Toledo women's soccer team plays host to Valparaiso for the team's senior day on Sunday, Sept. 17 at 1:05 p.m. The match will be shown live on ESPN3.
Prior to the contest, the Rockets (2-4-1) will honor seniors Christina Williams, Sydney Vinton, Isa Echeverri, Alexis Burdick, Chiara Paradiso and Sophie Pohl, along with senior student managers Erica Tullis and Lydia Yeager and senior athletic training student Anna Ciarlino.
Toledo enters Sunday coming off of a 1-1 weekend. The Rockets scored a pair of first-half goals en route to a 2-0 win over Cleveland State on Friday, Sept. 8 before dropping a 4-0 decision to previously nationally ranked Notre Dame on Sunday.
Echeverri leads the Rockets with a pair of goals and is tied for the squad lead with an assist. The Medellin, Colombia native also tops the Rockets in points with five and shots with 14 on the year.
Valparaiso (5-3-0) will do battle with MAC West Division member Western Michigan on Friday before making their way to the Glass City. The Crusaders started their 2017 season with three-straight wins before dropping a pair in the Florida Atlantic Owl Classic. Valpo has won three of its last four entering the weekend.
The Crusaders are led by Cory Griffith with four goals, two assists and 10 points.
Toledo is unbeaten in eight contests against Valparaiso. The Rockets hold a 6-0-2 record against Valpo, including a 4-0 rout in the teams' last meeting in 2005.
The women's soccer team is in the middle of a four-match homestand. Next weekend UT will welcome Miami and Ball State to Scott Park to kick off its Mid-American Conference schedule.
