Toledo Hosts Bowling Green for Friday Dual Meet

TOLEDO, Ohio - Toledo track & field will host I-75 rival Bowling Green for the BGSU Dual meet on Friday, April 7 at the Toledo Track & Field Facility. The program will start at 3:00 p.m. with the hammer throw with running event beginning at 5:00 p.m.
This will be the first of two home meets for the Midnight Blue & Gold. The other, the Toledo Invitational, will take place on May 4-5.
The Rockets split their team last weekend for meets in Cincinnati, Ohio and Palo Alto, Calif. The majority of the team competed in the Oliver Nikoloff Open while Toledo sent five athletes to the Stanford Invitational.
In Cincinnati, graduate student Dandadeua da Silva won the 400m dash in a time of 55.80, the third fastest time in the conference this season. Also winning for the Rockets was Anna Bellman in the javelin. A throw of 36.66m won the event and is good for seventh best in the Mid-American Conference.
In California, Petronela Simiuc won the her section of the 1,500-meter run in 4:27.44. The time is the fourth fastest in Toledo outdoor history and lands her in third conference wide.
The Ball State Challenge is next on the docket for the Rockets on April 14-15 in Muncie, Ind.
