YPSILANTI, Mich. - Joan Jepkirui and Caroline Lambert finished with 10 and six points, respectively, to lead Toledo to an 11th place in the MAC Indoor Championships. The Rockets scored 36 points in total.
"This was a very up and down meet for us," said Toledo Head Coach Linh Nguyen. "We missed big opportunities to score points and when you finish eight points from fourth place that really comes back to bite you."
Jepkirui placed second in the 5000-meter run on Friday, with a time of 16:52.52, just three seconds behind the conference champion, Alsu Bogdanova of Eastern Michigan. Lambert came across the finish line in 17:04.99 to take fourth. Jepkirui earned eight points for the Rockets and Lambert took away five points from the event.
On Saturday, the duo took seventh and eighth place in the 3000m. Jepkirui crossed the line in 9:45.66 to earn two points, while Lambert finished in 9:46.73 to tally another point.

The Rockets' 4x400m relay team of Nautica Hill, Yana Khabina, Kristiana Collins and Dandadeua da Silva clocked in at 3:48.29 to finish sixth and earn three points towards UT's total.

Christina Johnson qualified for Saturday's finals in the 200m dash with a career-best time of 25.09.
