Otto Black Sits Tied for 41st Place at NCAA Kohler Regional After 18 Holes

KOHLER, WI – Senior Otto Black is tied for 41st place following Monday's first round of the 2016 NCAA Kohler Regional. The tournament is being hosted by Marquette University at the par-72, 7,123-yard Meadow Valleys Course at Blackwolf Run Golf Club.
Black concluded today's opening 18 holes with a mark of two-over par 74, posting three birdies and five bogeys.

Black finished the front nine at two-over par 38 thanks to birdies on the par-four, 382-yard first hole and par-five, 520-yard seventh hole. The four-time all-league honoree followed it up with a mark of even-par 36 on the back nine, taking advantage of a birdie on the par-five, 522-yard 11th hole.
The quartet of Florida State's Hank Lebioda, South Dakota State's Grant Smith and Idaho teammates Daniel Sutton and Ryan Porch are currently tied for the individual lead with a tally of three-under par 69.

Black is one of 75 players, comprised of 13 teams and 10 individuals, taking part in the event, which is scheduled for three rounds. The second round will take place on Tuesday with tee times beginning at 8:00 a.m. (CT). Black is set to tee off at 10:12 a.m. (CT) off the 10th hole.
The low five teams and low individual not associated with those squads will advance to the NCAA Championships on Friday-Wednesday, May 27-June 1 in Eugene, OR. SDSU's Smith is currently the top individual not associated with the low five squads, five strokes ahead of Black.
