Toledo Sits in Fifth Place at MAC Championships Following Opening 36 Holes

SYLVANIA, OH – Toledo sits in fifth place at 32-over par following the first two rounds of the Mid-American Conference Championships on Thursday at the par-71, 6712 yard Highland Meadows Golf Course. The Rockets recorded rounds of 296 and 304 for a team score of 600 during the opening 36 holes at the league's premier event.
Senior Otto Black is leading UT at three-over par 145 (72-73) and sits tied for sixth place in the individual standings.
Sophomore Colin Joseph also had a good day and is tied for the 11th spot at six-over par 148 (72-76).
Black and Joseph were each credited with a team-high four birdies each.
Sophomore Stephen Watts is tied for 17th place at nine-over par 151 (75-76), senior Thomas Shindler is tied for 34th spot at 14-over par 156 (77-79) and freshman Spencer Shoemaker is tied for 38th place at 16-over par 158 (78-80).
In the team standings, Kent State is atop the leaderboard after carding an 11-over par 579 (288-291), four strokes ahead of Eastern Michigan at 15-over par 583 (288-295).
Individually, Northern Illinois' Joo-Young Lee is leading a field of 45 players at three-under par 139 (72-67), two shots ahead of Eastern Michigan's Brett White at one-under par 141 (66-75).
The third round will be held on Friday, with the Rockets teeing off with fourth-place Miami and tied for sixth place Akron beginning at 9:15 a.m. off the first hole. Â Â
