TOLEDO, OH – Toledo defeated Denison University in a 7-0 sweep on Friday evening. With the victory, the Rockets move to 6-5 on the season, while the Big Red drop to 3-1.
UT gained the doubles point by winning two of the three doubles matches. Stjepan Sisko and Luka Vitosevic continue their undefeated (4-0) streak with a 6-4 victory at No. 1. Stephen Miller and Serjen Olmedo won a 7-5 battle at No. 3.
The Midnight Blue & Gold bested Denison in all six singles matches, five of which were completed in two sets.
This match also served as a fundraiser for UT junior track and cross country athlete Janelle Noe (Sylvania, OH) in support of her recovery from burns suffered in an off campus incident on Jan. 15.
"Our doubles was a little rocky but overall it was great to rotate some guys in and keep building our depth," said head coach Al Wermer. "But most of all, we had a fantastic home crowd and for a great team and great cause tonight! #AdvantageJenelle."
The Rockets return to the court this Sunday when they visit Dayton, OH to battle the Flyers at 11:00 a.m.
