Toledo Finishes 22nd in Great Lakes Regionals

MADISON, Wis. - The Toledo men's cross country team finished the season with a 22nd-place finish in the NCAA Great Lakes Regionals on Friday afternoon at the Thomas Zimmer Championship Course.
Freshman Dismas Koech led the Rockets with a 64th-place finish in a time of 32:01.3. Alberto Chelimo also finished inside the Top 100 as the sophomore placed 98th in 32:35.0.
Junior Stalline Kurgat and senior Thomas Gibbons finished in 131st and 132nd, respectively. Kurgat finished in 33:15.6 and Gibbons stopped the clock at 33:17.0.
Sophomore Jacob Wistinghausen rounded out the scoring for UT with a 156th-place finish (33:48.3).
Junior Louis Guardiola (165th) and sophomore Josh Oeters (178th) also competed for the Midnight Blue and Gold.
Wisconsin won the meet as Malachy Schrobilgen and Moregan McDonald tied for first place with times of 30:22.2.
