
Rockets Sweep Arch-Rival Bowling Green

Toledo defeated the Falcons 7-0 on Friday afternoon.
BOWLING GREEN, OH - The Toledo women's tennis team continued their strong start to the Mid-American Conference season, sweeping arch-rival Bowling Green, 7-0, on Friday afternoon.
With the win, the Rockets improve to 13-6 on the season and 4-1 in conference action.
UT started off the match by winning the doubles point for the ninth-consecutive match, and 18th time in 19 matches this season.
Senior Lexy Pitt and junior Emily Mazzola recorded a 6-2 win at No. 2 doubles, while junior Katelyn Nguyen and sophomore Kayleigh Hall won 7-5 at No. 3 doubles. Pitt and Mazzola now lead the team with 13 wins as a team.
In singles action, the Rockets swept all six matchups.
Senior Pia Rygh improved to 9-10 on the year with a three-set victory at the top singles spot, while Pitt won in straight sets at No. 2 singles for her 10th win of the season.
Freshman Sidnay Huck, Bowman and sophomore Lauren Thai all won in straight sets at Nos. 3, 5 and 6 singles, respectively, while Mazzola earned a three-set win at the No. 4 spot.
Toledo concludes its weekend slate on Sunday with an away contest at Miami. The match is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m.
