
Rockets in Second After Day One of EKU Colonel Classic

RICHMOND, KY - Toledo is in second place and just two strokes behind front-runner Akron following Friday's first two rounds of the EKU Colonel Classic. The event is being held at the par-72, 5,809-yard Arlington Golf Club.
"It was certainly a fun day out there for us today," Toledo Head Coach Nicole Hollingsworth said. "We played very well, and it's been nice to see the improvement we've made week after week. Hopefully we can post four good scores tomorrow and come away with another tournament title."
Seniors Georgina Hunt and Piyathida Chaiyapan are both in the Top 10 and leading the Rockets after 36 holes. Hunt is tied for fourth place at eight-over par 152 (76-76), while Chaiyapan is alone in sixth place at nine-over par 153 (75-78). Sophomore Kate Hoops is tied for 12th place at 11-over par 155 with freshmen Lauren Stephens (T-34th/81-79=160) and Stephanie St-Jean (T-41st/80-82=162) rounding out the Rocket lineup.
Junior Allison Schultz (T-24th/79-78=157) and freshman Jennifer Elsholz (61st/85-83=168) are competing as individuals for Toledo.
The Rockets shot a team score of 43-over par 619 (310-309) with the Zips the only school to top UT at 41-over par 617 (314-303). Ball State's Jenna Hague is the individual leader at four-over par 148 (74-74).
The final round will begin with tee times at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday.
