
Rockets Get the Best of Denison

Granville, OH - The Toledo swimming and diving team visited Denison for a dual-match on Friday, Jan. 20 and added another tally to the win column. UT topped the Big Red by a score of 174-128.
The Rockets (3-2, 2-0 MAC) scored 10 first-place finishes out of 16 events in the contest to pull out the win over the defending Division III national runner-up.
Junior Carly Harter scored a triple-crown, winning the 200 freestyle (1:51.02), 50 freestyle (24.17) and 100 freestyle (52.13). UT's other multiple-event winner, senior Laura Lindsay, grabbed glory in the 100 breaststroke, winning in 1:03.79, as well as the 200 breaststroke, winning in a time of 2:20.31.
Junior McKenzie Bagan touched first in the 200 butterfly, finishing in 2:05.95. Sophomores Christina Noens and Rachel Johnson, wrapped up the Rockets' first-place finishes in the swimming events, topping the field in the 200 backstroke (2:02.60) and the 200 IM (2:09.10), respectively.
Toledo's diving trio also put together a strong performance, finishing 1-2-3 in both the one-meter and three-meter dive events. Junior Nikki Schropp came out on top in the one-meter, earning a 247.95. Sophomore Kristy Richart placed second with a mark of 232.35, followed by freshman Allison Belcher in third with a score of 224.85.
Belcher won the three-meter dive, however, recording a mark of 243.83. Schropp wasn't far behind in second-place with a 243.00, and Richart came in third with a score of 230.85.
The Rockets are back in the pool on Saturday, Jan. 21, taking on MAC foe Ball State in Muncie, IN.
