Cola Named to Prospect League Season-Ending All-Star Squad

TOLEDO, OH - Senior RF Jeff Cola recently wrapped up a banner summer campaign in the Prospect League and was rewarded for his play by being selected to the season-ending All-Star Team. Cola was the only member of a Mid-American Conference school to garner post-season recognition in the third-year league.
Cola hit .305 (53-for-174) with 16 runs scored, nine doubles, two home runs and 27 RBI in 45 games for the Lorain Country Ironmen. The Strongsville, OH native was also named to the league's mid-season all-star contest and played a key role in helping Lorain County finish second in the East Division.
The prestigious squad was selected by the league's 14 managers. The skippers in the wood-bat league were asked to select three players per position with the No. 1 slot getting three points, No. 2 slot two points and No. 3 slot one point.
