Rockets Finish Eighth at Pinehurst Challenge

PINEHURST, NC - Toledo finished eighth at the Pinehurst Challenge that concluded on Tuesday afternoon. The Rockets carded a three-round score of 962 and were just four strokes behind sixth-place Western Carolina.
Tournament host College of Charleston captured the tournament title at 49-over par 913. The Cougars' Leigh Whittaker captured medalist honors at three-over par 219 (73-75-71).
Senior Michelle Hui tied for ninth place to lead the Rockets at 18-over par 234 (76-81-77) with senior Erica Rivard alone in 22nd place at 22-over par 238 (77-81-80). Junior Piyathida Chaiyapan (84-79-84) and freshman Natasha Gobey (81-84-82) were tied for 45th place at 31-over par 247, while senior Emily Hardcastle tied for 48th place at 32-over par 248 (84-81-83). Redshirt freshman Kate Hoops competed as an individual and tied for 28th place at 26-over par 242 (84-82-76).
Toledo returns to action this weekend with a trip to Richmond, KY for Eastern Kentucky's Lady Colonel Classic on April 9-10
