Routine Regulations
Dance and cheer are both required during the routine. (No voice overs/words on music to make the team's vocal projection seem louder) Jumps and tumbling are expected, failure to include either will result in a score of zero in that category. Stunts are only expected in the stunting division.
Routine will be performed on mat (mat size/type). Points will be deducted for stepping off the mat.
Routine will be limited to 3:00 minutes.
- The time will begin with the first choreographed word/movement/note of music after the team is officially announced. Spiriting while entering and the setting up of props are allowed and are not considered part of your choreographed routine.
- The time will end with the last choreographed word/movement/note of music. Please exit promptly after the end of your routine and remove all used props. Excessive spiriting after the routine will result in deductions.
Allowed props include poms, megs, signs, flags and banners. No props are allowed to be used during tumbling. Poms and signs without poles are the only props to be used in stunts. Props are allowed to begin/end off the mat, however, feet are not allowed off the mat while placing/retrieving props. Poms may be thrown off the mat, but megs, signs, banners and flags must be placed. Misuse of props will result in a penalty.
Routines must be appropriate for family viewing. Any vulgar/suggestive movements (such as hip thrusts, inappropriate touching/slapping/positioning of one another), uniforms, or music will result in deductions. Vulgarity will be determined per judge's discretion.
Appropriate athletic shoes must be worn during the routine. Absolutely no jewelry of any kind may be worn, including pins on uniforms. Failure to comply with these uniform requirements will result in deductions.
In addition to the above specified requirements, we will be following the regulations in place by the American Association of Cheerleading Coaches and Advisors.
