
Women's Tennis Blanks Ball State, 7-0

MUNCIE, IN - They came, they saw, they conquered. The Toledo Rockets downed the Ball State Cardinals 7-0 on Friday in Muncie, IN and swept all eight matches. UT moves to 12-8 on the season and 3-3 in the Mid-American Conference.
Martina Wodzinski returned to the court for the first time in over a month and paired with Maha Guirguis for a 8-0 shut-out win in No. 1 singles over Georgina Thomson and Dena Boulieris. Guirguis also won her No. 1 singles match in a decisive fashion, downing Sarah Hebble, 6-0, 6-3.
In No. 2 doubles, Ashley Frey and Nadia Zoubareva continued their success as doubles partners, racking up their 10th win this spring with an 8-4 victory over Hebble and Kylee Johnson. Frey went on to defeat Boulieris in No. 2 singles, 6-1, 6-2 while Zoubareva won her No. 3 singles match over Johnson, 6-1, 6-4.
In No. 3 singles, Jenny Belsky and Melissa Reynolds defeated Hanna Oman and Rachel Surowiec 8-4 for the Rocket doubles sweep. Both also won their singles matched with Belsky taking the No. 4 win over Hayley Hall, 6-1, 6-3 and Reynolds defeating Surowiec in the No. 6 spot, 6-3, 6-2.
Rounding out the Rockets' rout was Jessica Azoulay in No. 5 singles with her 6-4, 7-5(8) win over Oman.
UT will continue its road trek as the Midnight Blue and Gold head to Oxford, OH to take on the Miami RedHawks on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
