
Rockets Shut Out Ball State on Senior Day

“I am happy with how we performed today and I thought we adjusted to the outdoor conditions well,” Head Coach Tracy Mauntler said. “We set the tone by winning the doubles point and we followed it up with six solid singles performances.”
UT won at No. 1 and 2 doubles but lost a tough-fought match at the No. 3 spot. The sophomore team of Martina Wodzinski and Maha Guirguis, along with the duo of freshman Ashley Frey and sophomore Nadia Zoubareva, downed their opponents 8-3, 8-2, respectively.

Going into a third-set tiebreaker was junior Jenny Belsky. She won the first set over BSU's Emma Retter, 6-4. Retter came back and won the second set, 7-5, to force a 10-point tiebreaker. Belsky won 10-6 for the Rocket point.
