ATHENS, OH - The Toledo swimming and diving team wrapped up a weekend of conference meets on Saturday at Ohio University as the Rockets fell to the Bobcats, 170-122.
"I thought we competed hard," said Head Coach Lars Jorgensen. "We fought a hard battle and tried to dig it out. We just have to get back to work and train hard."
Jacy Dyer continued her streak of high performance for the Rockets as the sophomore had first-place finishes in the 500 and 1000 freestyle. Dyer finished the shorter race in 5:04.34 while completing the longer distance in 10:15.08. Dyer has not lost a 1000 freestyle race she has competed in so far this season, giving her a 3-0 mark. Dyer also has an unblemished record in the 1650 freestyle (2-0) and has posted a top-two finish in every 500 freestyle race she has competed in, including three first-place finishes.
Brittany Teneyck also had two first-place finishes, sweeping the diving events. Teneyck won the one-meter with 267.90 and then totaled 249.68 in the three-meter for the sweep.
Amanda Breen added a first-place finish to the Rocket total as well. Breen was the first swimmer to touch the wall in the 200 breastroke and earned first place with her time of 2:22.11.
UT will now have more than three weeks to prepare for the USA Short Course Nationals and the Eastern Michigan Invitational, both of which take place over the weekend of Dec. 4.
