OXFORD, OH - The Toledo women's swimming and diving team opened its two-meet Mid-American Conference weekend at Miami University on Friday and fell to the RedHawks, 196-102.
Jacy Dyer and Caitlin Cormack led UT (3-2, 2-1 MAC) as each posted a first- and second-place finish in the meet. Dyer took the top spot in the 1650 freestyle (17:05.05) and second in the 500 freestyle (5:02.92). Cormack's first-place time came in the 200 butterfly (2:05.65) when she touched the wall almost five seconds faster than the second-place swimmer. Cormack finished second in the 1650 freestyle (17:13.78).
"I thought Miami is a good team and swam really well," said Head Coach Lars Jorgensen. "Caitlin Cormack's butterfly was a lifetime best. She was really the star of the day for us and she competed well."
Katie White and Amanda Thompson had second-place finishes for the Rockets with White's coming in the 50 freestyle (24.30) and Thompson's in the 100 butterfly (57.10).
Toledo will compete again Saturday, Nov. 8 at Ohio beginning at 1:00 p.m.
