TOLEDO, OH ? The Toledo men's tennis Head Coach Al Wermer announced on Thursday that Bryant Dudzik has signed to a national letter of intent for the 2009-10 season.
"Bryant can help us immediately because he's a focused young man in a prototypical tennis body but what I love most is his enthusiasm," Wermer said. "He's a unique guy and we're a unique program here at Toledo so it's a great match!"
A Gowen, MI native, Dudzik compiled a 107-11 record at Greenville High School over his four years of varsity tennis. He notched 34 6-0, 6-0 matches in his career - the second highest total in the state of Michigan. Dudzik won 18 high school tournaments and was named his team's captain and most valuable player for four consecutive years. He also earned All-Conference and All-State honors all four years of high school while making it to the regional finals each year and winning the title three of the four years. Dudzik was a state finalist in his senior season and posted a 32-3 record. He is the son of Ronald and Valerie Dudzik and the brother of Emily Dudzik - a women's tennis player at Mid-American Conference foe Western Michigan.
"I am very impressed with the athletic and academic programs at UT and I feel that it is a perfect fit," Dudzik said. "Coach Wermer is an outstanding coach and I can't wait to begin my career as a Rocket."
