Muncie, IN - Toledo women's tennis continued to have an outstanding weekend, beating Ball State 5-2 this afternoon. The Rockets remain undefeated in the MAC.
UT captured the doubles point with wins at No.1 and No. 2. Myriam Cueva and Nadia Zoubareva defeated their opponent 8-5, while Martina Wodzinski and Maha Guirguis dominated their match 8-1.
In singles, Cueva lost an extremely close match at No. 1 6-2, 6-7 (4), and 5-7. Wodzinski and Guirguis both controlled their matches at No. 2 and No. 3. Wodzinski won 6-2, 6-1 and Guirguis won 6-0, 6-2.
The bottom three matches each went to three sets. Zoubareva won 3-6, 6-4, 6-3 at No. 4 and Jessica Azouly won 4-6, 6-1, 6-3 at No. 6. While Jenny Belsky fell short 6-3, 2-6, 4-6 at No. 5.
"We showed up with a lot of energy and intensity today which is tough to do after our grueling match yesterday," said Head Coach Tracy Mauntler. "We played with a lot of passion today. Our team is focused and on a mission."
