Head Coach Stan Joplin
"This was a game that we were concerned about since we were on the road and every game we've played the last few seasons has been tight. Northern can shoot the ball well from outside and (James) Hughes played like he's ready for the next level tonight. We had a lead at halftime and then we didn't do anything to keep it. We didn't come out with a lot of energy and it was very disturbing. That got their confidence going and we couldn't get a stop. You have to give Northern a lot of credit because I think Rob (Judson) had a good gameplan. The telling part of the game was the last three possessions is when we got stops and made plays down the stretch."
(on winning the West Division title)
"Our goals are very simple. We've won the West Division and now we want to have the best overall record and win the regular-season title. We're going to have a tough game at Western Michigan on Sunday and then we have two home games."
(on the turnover difference in the game)
"We don't force as many turnovers on the road. We have to mix it up a little bit and make them play faster. What really concerned me is how well they shot the ball from outside. We had some success in creating turnovers and that helped us a lot. Our strength is when we can play fast and quick."
Senior guard Justin Ingram
(on winning the West Division title despite not playing their best)
"It wasn't the prettiest game but we came out with a win that's what good teams do on the road. You have to find a way to win the game. We're not satisfied though. It's good to win the West but now we want to have the best record in the conference and come away with the overall championship."
(on the turnover difference)
"Our guard like to get up into the opposing point guard. Kashif puts a lot of pressure on trying to get turnovers. We want to get a good trap and want to make a good decision and read the situation. We try to create lot of havoc."
Senior forward Keonta Howell
(on feeling more comfortable with his shot)
"I felt I had my rhythm back and tonight the shots were falling for me. I felt a little more comfortable tonight."
