
Rockets Win at Tri-Meet in Rochester

“We had a really good meet today,” Head Coach Lars Jorgensen said. “This was the first time in school history that we beat a Big Ten program and we are very proud of that.”
Leading the way for UT was freshman Jacy Dyer, who came in first place in the 1000 free (10:11.11), 200 free (1:52.89) and the 500 free (5:01.41). Also coming in first was junior Kylie Gamelier in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:04.94. In the 50-yard freestyle, senior Leah Woodard came in first place with a time of 23.72 and senior Liz Hinkleman came in second with a time of 24.63.
“Jacy Dyer was the star for our team across the board, winning three events,” Jorgensen said. “We are really proud of her efforts today.”
The Rockets swept the diving events, where senior Megan McKinley won both the 1-meter and 3-meter with scores of 268.75 and 277.95. Coming in second was senior Jill Reighard who had scores of 254.80 in the 1-meter and 251.65 in the 3-meter. Freshman Brittany Teneyck came in third place in the diving events with 224.00 points in the 1-meter and 233.70 points in the 3-meter.
“Today was a total team effort and we are pleased with a lot of people who contributed,” Jorgensen said. “We need to keep doing that.”
