Final Stats
Toledo, OH - The University of Toledo swimming and diving pulled out a 164-136 victory over Ball State this afternoon. The Rockets are now 3-2 in the MAC and 5-3 overall.
"I am very pleased with how we swam today, especially our seniors," said Head Coach Lars Jorgensen. "We beat a very competive Ball State Team."
Seniors Makenzie Manard and Brie Henning dominated their events. Manard won the 200 butterfly clocking a time of 2:06.91 and the 100 butterfly with a time of 59.05. She was also a member of the winning 200 medley relay team. Henning won the 200 freestyle in a time of 1:53.39, the 50 freestyle touching the wall in a time of 24.43 and the closest finish of the day in the 500 freestyle in 5:08.03. She also swam the first leg of the 400 freestyle relay team which took first place.
"Brie swam outstanding for us today," said Jorgensen. "She really pulled through where we needed her too."
In the diving, junior Megan McKinley won the three meter dive with a score of 306.83 and fellow diver Jill Reighard won the one meter dive scoring 289.88 and also qualified for the NCAA Zone diving.
Also caputing first for the Rockets were sophomores Amanda Breen and Kylie Gamelier in the 100 and 200 breaststroke. Gamelier clocked a time of 1:06.09 in the 100 while Breen finishend the 200 in a time of 2:23.85.
UT's last dual meet of the season will be Saturday January, 27 where they will travel to Akron to take on the Zips. The meet will start at 1 PM.
