Oxford, OH - The University of Toledo swimming and diving falls short to the Miami Redhawks losing 189-107. The Rockets are now 4-4 overall and 2-3 in the MAC.
Registering one of the three event wins was sophomore Shannon Hazelton in the 100 backstroke clocking a time of 58.84. Junior Megan McKinley took first in both the 1-meter and 3-meter dive with a score of 282.07 (1-meter) and 289.87 (3-meter).
Following behind teammate Megan McKinley in both the 1-meter and 3-meter dives was junior Jill Reighard. Freshman Ashley Cusack placed second in the 100 backstroke. Will Senior Brie Henning took second in the 500 freestyle.
"It was a tough meet," said Head Coach Lars Jorgensen. "We could have swam better, but we just need to keep ourselves focused on the next two MAC meets and on the Championships."
Miami won 12 of 16 events and has now won 44 straight MAC meets. The Redhawks are now 6-0 overall and 5-0 in the MAC.
The Rockets take the pool again next Saturday January 20 at 1:00 PM where they host Ball State. This is UT's last home meet of the season and the Rockets will honor their five seniors before the meet.
