Toledo, OH - The Toledo Rockets brought back the Toledo Invitational with style as the women came away with four titles including one meet record. April Williams won the triple jump with a new meet record of 12.70 (41' 8") and ran anchor on the Toledo 4 x 100m relay that won in a season-best time of 46.81. That time moves Toledo into the #6 on the current MAC list. Other victories came from freshmen Elan Pessoa in the long jump (19' 4.5") and Breezie Gibson in the 100-meters (12.28),
There was one other meet record set at the meet as Mt. Union set a new Toledo Invitational record of 40.70 in the 4 x 100m. That meet record beat the University of Toledo's time of 40.94 from 1998.
The Rockets also finished 2-3-4 in the 400-meter hurdles led by senior Katrina Adams (1:02.25). Following Adams was sophomores Francine Jennings (1:02.47) and Ashley Savoy (1:03.40).
"We had a very good meet and we are ready for the MAC Championships at home next week. I feel like our team has a great chance at improving on our 6th place finish from indoors."
This was the final meet of the season leading into next week's MAC Championship Meet. UT will host the meet, which takes place Thursday-Saturday, May 11-13.
