Toledo Beats Arch-Rival Bowling Green

Toledo, OH - The University of Toledo women's tennis team played its first outdoor home match of the season at the newly renovated UT Varsity Courts and came away with an impressive 5-2 win over arch-rival Bowling Green on Friday afternoon. The Rockets improve to 13-5 overall, 4-2 in the Mid-American Conference with the win.
The Rockets won the doubles point and never looked back against the Falcons. Eunice Paravicini and Myriam Cueva improved to 6-0 in the MAC with an 8-6 victory over Heidi Romer and Jenna Nussbaum. Jenny Belsky and Viviana Rivero won 8-5 at No. 2 doubles to give the Rockets two out of three and clinch the doubles point.
In singles action, Paravicini moved up to the first flight and won 6-3, 6-4 over Ashley Jakupcin, improving her MAC record to 5-1. Myriam Cueva played at No. 2 and won 6-4, 6-1 over Nussbaum. Cueva is also 5-1 in the conference.
Sarah VanderMolen won easily at No. 6 singles over Stef Menoff (6-0, 6-1), while Belsky won in the longest match of the day after losing the first set, 2-6, 6-2, 6-4, over Andrea Meister.
The Rockets will look to keep the win streak alive tomorrow against Western Michigan (5-0 MAC) in a 1 p.m. match at UT Varsity Courts.
