Head Coach Stan Joplin
"It was one of those games where we couldn't get stretch our lead. We would play well and have a little lapse and then we would play well again. We also had to adjust to the officiating because they were calling hand checks. We were concerned about Brandon Cotton and Ryvon Covile and it hurt us when Kashif Payne picked up two early fouls."
(on winning at home)
"It was good and we expected to get these two wins. We have to protect our homecourt and if we do that along with winning at least half of our road games we should be in good shape. I think the players expected to win and we just had to go out and do it."
(on Tyrone Kent)
"As long as he concentrates, he'll be fine. He's very talented and now he has to learn how to value the basketball. He can't turn the ball over so much and he could be a much more efficient basketball player."
Senior guard Justin Ingram
"Kashif picked up two quick fouls so I had to move up to the point. But that's something I'm accustomed to because I played the point my first two years. So I just know that when Kashif comes out I have to change from being mobile shooting guard to point guard. I need to make sure I get my team involved and make sure the offense is flowing."
(on Tyrone Kent's play)
"It's been phenomenal. Tyrone is a very energetic player and he plays that way in practice. He's a great athlete and a good outside shooter. We know teams are going to concentrate on me, Tino and Keonta. So that means other players are going to have to step up when they back off of them and Tyrone is doing a great job of that right now."
(on winning at home)
"We just feel really good. It was a good win. We lost to them last year at their place at the buzzer so to come back home and beat them it was really good. But we aren't looking at it as just beating Detroit. They are just one team on our schedule before we play the next team Drake. We are going to celebrate this tonight and tomorrow we are going to wake up and get on the plane to go to Texas and get ready to play Drake."
(on having a smaller team)
"We know that every game is going to be tough because going into the game we are going to be undersized. Our tallest starter is 6'6", so we know it's going to be a tough game. We just look at it as it's another game, we just have to go out there and play as hard as we can and take care of the ball. And if we do that we believe that we will have a chance to win the game."
