TOLEDO, OH - Toledo concluded play in its season-opening event by tying for seventh place (293-302-304--899) at the fifth-annual Inverness Intercollegiate Invitational on the Inverness Club's par-71, 7,255-yard course. The Rockets' stroke total and finish was their second best in the tournament's brief history.

Florida (298-295-287--880) captured the tournament title by rallying from 12 strokes down after the second round and were led by medalist Matt Every, who tied the tournament record with an even-par 213 (74-71-68). The Gators edged out second-round leader USC (289-292-302--883) and finished eight strokes ahead of third-place Texas (305-286-297--888).

Senior Richard Kilpatrick (75-75-74--224) led the Rockets in today's final round with a three-over par 74 and finished tied for 19th place. Sophomore Justin Hull (72-71-79--222) was UT's top individual finisher by tying for 14th place with junior Tyler Riley (74-77-75--226) tied for 26th place, sophomore Renaud Langevin (72-79-78--229) tying for 41st place and sophomore Ciaran McAleavey (79-82-77--238) tying for 65th place.

"We didn't play as well as we could have, but it's still a decent start to the season for us," UT Head Coach Jamie Mauntler said. "We're going to have to try to correct some of our mistakes and try to keep improving the rest of the fall season."

The Rockets will return to action next Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 26-27 with a trip to Alabama for UAB's Shoal Creek Intercollegiate.
