Toledo Finishes Ninth at Lady Buckeye Invitational

Columbus, OH - Toledo finished in ninth place out of 15 teams this weekend at Ohio State's Lady Buckeye Invitational. The event was held at the par-72, 6,201-yard OSU Scarlet Course.
Freshman Joanna Periversoff paced the Rockets by tying for 16th place with a 229 (79-70-80) and was followed closely by sophomore Natalie Storck in a 20th-place tie at 230 (80-73-77). Sophomore Kim Kester (77-79-84=240/T-42nd), freshman Katie Myos (79-82-81=242/T-50th) and sophomore Rachel Thomas (88-89-93=270/T-91st) rounded out the Rockets' lineup.
"It was another Top 10 finish for us and I think we played well for the most part," UT Head Coach Nicole Hollingsworth said. "Hopefully we can build on this as we prepare for next weekend's MAC Championships."
Michigan State captured the tournament title with a score of 886, while Ohio State's Lindsay Knowlton (73-73 -68) earned medalist honors with a two-under par 214.
The Rockets will return to action at the Mid-American Conference Championships in Indian Springs, OH on Friday-Sunday, April 22-24.
