When I get questions from people back home it's usually about the football team, and I just say it's a great experience and that I love being here. I sometimes wish a couple of those guys could be down here with me, but it's been great being a part of this program.
I love football, but hockey is still my first love. I just love the speed of it, the intensity and the fact you can fight. My dad had me in skates about the time I started walking and we lost in the state championship game my senior year.
"Rudy" because it's a story about a guy that worked his tail off, never said die and really busted his chops. You have to respect that.
Winning the MAC Championship against Miami last year. It was my first year as a starter, and I hadn't played all that well the first time we played Miami. It was probably the worst game of my life so it was really nice to be able to come out and right that wrong.
It was a recreation class called Outdoor Management. We went on a camping trip for a weekend and I'm pretty familiar with what needs to be done outdoors so I kind of led the way.
